Improved agricultural research information system and improved access to Information Technology tools to research scientists is crucial both for knowledge management and communication development of the National Agricultural Research System (NARS).
Information system development for BARC and NARS institutions is strategically important for the development of technology generation and dissemination system, particularly within the new mandate and organizational structure to be articulated and established. A Management Information System (MIS) would be required to provide real time information for planning, M&E of research; and for management of personnel, physical and financial resources together with need analysis, identifying skill gap and unfurling potentials as well.
